BATTERSEA LITTERARY FESTIVAL 2008 WORKSHOP:PATHWAYS INTO PLAYWRITING – an introduction
In line with our objective of sharing our approach to playwriting in a collaborative and supportive environment we offered a one day open access taster workshop for adults interested in creating a short dramatic script for the stage. The workshop comprised both of writing exercises as well as interactive improvisation exercises in order to explore fully the theatre making process.
The participants left the workshop with their own short piece of written work and the tools to continue the process at home. A year on, the LPC has been invited back to the festival due to overwhelming positive feedback and we are proud to hear that most of the writers who attended the workshops have now finished a first draft of a full-length piece for theatre.
